They said that when you are about die, all your life come flashing in your eyes. What if, instead of your lived life, you'll have a flash of what it could have been, or what it could be.
Peyton Farquhar was a happy man, well, content at least. He's still young, respectable and consideredly wealthy. He had a nice plantation in the south, a home and a lovely loving wife inside it. What more should a man want. Then came the civil war. People take sides. People killed. Or be killed. And so was Farquhar. Tried to be a hero but got noose around his neck instead. But wait, he got lucky...
The rope snapped, and he's free. Free to come back to his lovely loving wife. And to his nice plantation. Look there's the gate. Just open it, open it and you're home. Home. HOME!
*and here I burst to tears*
